ACLU-MN GMRJP opens the call for Art from Within 2012
The ACLU-MN GMRJP is currently accepting art for their Art From Within 2012 Exhibit.
Art from Within" is a show featuring a collection of artwork that will give a personal and compelling view into the lives of real people who have been affected by the criminal justice system and incarceration, specifically. This show, in its third year, is sponsored by the Greater Minnesota Racial Justice Project of Bemidji, ACLU-MN, and made possible by a grant from Region 2 Arts Council, Blandin Foundation, the Green Institute, and the Cy and Paula DeCosse Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation.
This call for entries is open to emerging or established artists. Native Americans from Minnesotan tribes are strongly encouraged to submit entries. If you're non-Native American, you must be a resident in Minnesota. This show is open to adults and youth whose lives have been touched by incarceration or/or affected by the criminal justice system. Entries will be limited to three (3) pieces of artwork per person.
The theme for this years show focuses on the first 10 amendment of the U.S. Constitution's Bill of Rights. For more information on the Bill of Rights, please call GMRJP, ACLU-MN.
