ACLU-MN Lobby Day

March 10, 2020 @ 1:00 pm
March 11, 2020 @ 4:45 pm

If you feel that your rights are being increasingly threatened — and even violated, you're not alone. 2020 is a landmark year in our mission to protect and promote civil liberties in Minnesota, and we're counting on you to create change by sharing your concerns, your stories and your hopes with your representatives.

Join other ACLU of Minnesota supporters on March 10, 2020, as we take our fight for civil liberties to the state Capitol.

Online registration for meetings with lawmakers has closed. But you can still take action! Join us for our rally in the Capitol Rotunda and show your lawmakers that Minnesotans support fairness, justice and civil liberties for all.

No advance registration is required to attend the rally.

ACLU-MN Lobby Day will begin with a rally in the state Capitol Rotunda at 1:30 p.m. We will hear from lawmakers and directly impacted people about the following legislative goals:

  • Stopping the wealth-based suspension of driver's licenses for traffic tickets and fees, and require courts to consider someone's ability to pay before assessing excessive fines and fees.
  • Protecting email privacy from warrantless searches.
  • Requiring warrants for drone surveillance by police.
  • Fixing a broken forfeiture system that encourages law enforcement to "police for profit."

All Lobby Day participants get a free ACLU-MN T-shirt!
