Legislative Advocacy Toolkit

The American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, legal and advocacy 501(c)(4) organization that works to protect and promote the civil liberties of all Minnesotans.

There are countless ways to create positive change during the Minnesota legislative session. One tried-and-true way is contacting your elected officials. Visiting legislators helps them understand how the laws they are voting on affect real Minnesotans, and it reminds them that voters like you will hold them accountable.

We have assembled a toolkit to guide your advocacy efforts and make the process easier.

Our Legislative Advocacy Toolkit illustrates how to effectively talk with your legislators about issues that are important to you. If you’re looking for additional ways to get involved with our work defending freedom this session, sign up to receive email updates, action alerts and to volunteer with us! We’ll be in touch when the time comes with information on how you can take action to protect our rights and liberties in Minnesota.
