The lawsuit against the city of Minneapolis and Hennepin County Sheriff over law enforcement’s attacks on journalists will move toward trial, under a federal judge’s ruling Tuesday afternoon. 

When two men carjacked someone, robbed a group of women at the Mall of America a day later, and used the women’s cards to buy items at Walmart, Kylese Perryman was nowhere nearby. Police arrested the innocent man anyway and failed to do a basic investigation that would have cleared him. We sued.

Plaintiffs represented by the ACLU of Minnesota have reached a settlement with former MPD union head and Lt. Bob Kroll over his role in the police violence against demonstrators during the George Floyd protests.
