PIDI Database Volunteer

Location: St. Paul Office
What: Assists the Development and Operations staff with data entry into our PIDI database.

Key skills:

  • Focus and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and follow specific, detailed instructions.
  • Enthusiasm for data entry: this is a behind-the-scenes, repetitive task that is not for everyone.

Supervisor: Operations Administrator

Position Description:

This role is responsible for the accurate entry of names, addresses, and other information into our PIDI database, according to the directions given by staff. Best suited volunteers will have a mind for detail, and be able to follow complex oral and written directions exactly without missing any steps.

Prior experience with PIDI is not required, but fluency using a keyboard/mouse to enter data is essential, and a familiarity with other database software would be helpful.

Database Volunteers are valuable assistants to our Operations and Development team. These volunteers help us keep accurate and up-to-date donor information, which directly leads to us being able to fundraise and fund the litigation, lobbying, and education we do throughout the year.

Schedule: 1-2 hours weekly, during normal business hours (9-5 pm, M-F). Flexible hours. We are looking for applicants who can commit to volunteering on an ongoing basis (at least 6 months).

To Apply:

If you are interested, please email kingersoll@aclu-mn.org with the following information:

1. Subject line of the email should read: Database Volunteer Application

2. Briefly (in 1-3 sentences each), answer the following questions:

  • What do you know about the ACLU-MN, and why do you want to volunteer with us?
  • What (if any) prior experience do you have with data entry? What skills/interests/experience would you bring to this role?
  • What is your availability? When could you start, and how long could you commit to volunteering? What days/times work best for you?
