Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the ACLU of Minnesota. Dedicated ACLU-MN volunteers help us fulfill our mission to protect the civil liberties of all Minnesotans, and your investment in our work keeps us strong and effective.
The ACLU-MN is working hard to reform policing and criminal justice, reduce mass incarceration, protect privacy and expand voting rights. Our lawyers are fighting in court to protect the rights of the most vulnerable members of our community, including immigrants, racial and ethnic minorities, and the LGBTQ+ community. Our organizers are working in affected communities to advance immigrant rights in rural areas in southern Minnesota, and to protect freedom of speech. Our public policy team is at the Capitol working to advance legislation that preserves the civil liberties of all Minnesotans and fighting against laws that attempt to take our rights away.
Our volunteers participate in important ACLU-MN events by visiting lawmakers at the State Capitol, helping run Warrant Resolution Day events that have resolved about 1,500 misdemeanor warrants, marching with us in the Pride Parade, and giving out information at our booth at the Minnesota State Fair. ACLU-MN volunteers also help in our office by assisting with data entry, preparing for events, and performing other miscellaneous office tasks. Volunteers with specialized skills have helped us with graphic design, photography, videography, branding and much more.
