On Thursday, May 14, the ACLU-MN hosted Office Hours, a virtual event that allows viewers to drop in and get their most pressing questions answered by one of our staff experts.
This week, we dropped in on our ACLU-MN Attorneys Ian Bratlie and Paul Dimick*, who answered questions like:
-
What tools does the ACLU-MN use to get immigrants released from detention, and how has COVID-19 affected that work?
-
How can we make sure that enforcement of the Stay at Home order does not disproportionately target immigrants and BIPOC, especially in Southern Minnesota?
-
What is the relationship between the ACLU-MN's legal arm and its organizing arm? What can we accomplish working through the legal system that can't be accomplished through organizing?
* The Equal Justice Works Fellowship is sponsored by Allen I. Saeks PA and the Family of Hyman Edelman.
Watch this space for future Office Hours events with other staff experts.
